T[he]Issue: The Geospatial and Mixed-Locative Colonisation Act of 2014 questions legal, moral and ethical issues to do with ownership of spatial computing states (or as the Project describes them, “Integrated Spaces”) by asserting unequivocal ownership over Augmented, Extended, and Mixed/Virtual Reality spaces. 

"Mez Breeze's 'T[he]Issue', a terms of service like document that addresses disputes about ownership and rights of nonhuman / augmented bodies in cyberspace...puts the reader/spectator in the position of dreading the legalese. Our rights are abrogated in language we really can't read or understand. The characteristic Mezangelle "T[he]" in the title...reminds us that cyberfeminists have been fighting to make virtual spaces hospitable to women for thirty years."

T[he]Issue was originally commissioned by Julian Stadon and Furtherfield Gallery for the Beyond the Interface Exhibition as part of the 2014 International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality in Munich, Germany. The second site showing was held at Furtherfield’s Gallery at McKenzie Pavilion, Finsbury Park, until the 21st June, 2015. A third showing was held at the CAC.5 - Computer Art Congress 2016 Paris Exhibition 'Digital Art: Archiving and Questioning Immateriality' in October 2016.
